British Airways Concorde Rolls Royce 58 Hiduminium skin tag

One of the best tag releases we have ever had- Concorde Rolls Royce 58 Hiduminium skin tag❤️✈️

This metal, previously owned by British Airways and sourced from the very last interior designers of Concorde for BA, was used as additional stock of skin to replace any sections that became corroded or damaged in flight due to the speed the aircraft flew at and how often they had to be replaced/repaired.

The nominal percentage composition of RR58 is 2.5 copper, 1.5 magnesium, 1.0 iron, 1.2 nickel, 0.2 silicon, 0.1 titanium and the remainder aluminium. The sheet is clad with aluminium in which there is 1.0 per cent zirconium. The general distribution of materials in the airframe is shown in the photo attached. Hiduminium-RR58 is used for the majority of the structure, steel for sections subjected to higher temperatures and the highest loads and resin bonded glass fibre for the extreme nose section, where the skin temperature is highest.

The panel these cuts are from is labelled E/13/A/14 which can be traced as exclusively for Concorde use and had the aircraft continued to fly this panel would no doubt have ended up forming a replacement part of one of the BA fleet. To be clear- these sections are unflown.

You have the chance to have your or your loved one’s name engraved on the rear of the tag, please use the options to request this and provide name details in check out comments and where you want on rear of tag or tin.
